Letting Go

Before Nora arrived, I had planned on being back to normal (whatever that means) by the first of the year. She'd be almost three months old, I rationalized... and therefore, I'd be able to do everything I was doing before she arrived, plus meeting her sweet little needs, without much difficulty.

Riiiight.

So anyway, I'd planned on doing Christmas cards. In fact, we took the picture, made the card, the whole bit. I even addressed about half the envelopes! But about a week ago, I realized that I needed to let it go. I hadn't ordered the cards, nor had I bought postage. And it was the middle of January.

It had become this pride thing, you see. I was okay with them not going out before Christmas, and it was going to be a demonstration of humility to send them out after New Years. But then I became prideful about the stinkin' humility. Seriously. Like, I had to be humble and send them out so everyone could see how humble I was. Which is really pride.

Go figure. The Lord's sifting through a lot of pride with me these days.

Anyway, it's silly to make a perfectly good Christmas card go to waste... so here it is. Merry Christmas, everyone! (Or, as the case may be, Happy Martin Luther King day!)

I don't know about all of the pride/humility, humility/pride thing...but what I DO know is that the picture you just posted...made my heart sing!!! It was more profitable than any postage stamp or time spent addressing a billion envelopes. I scrolled down and saw the "angels" and it was THE best thing about my day! How very very precious!!! Oh, my goodness, I cannot wait to meet ms. nora...another Thomas doll, no doubt!
Well, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I have this picture etched on the memory of my heart, for you made my day! God Bless, Love, Ann and the Resort Crew

I absolutely LOVE the card, no matter what form I see it in! It's amazing what God chooses to show us through our seasons of life and through our children. Y'all are still in our daily prayers! Love you!

That's a great picture/card. I, personally, had to let go of the perfect family photo for our Christmas cards. Our attempts turned out less than perfect (the best picture was Jackson crying and Kathryn's finger up her nose), so I had to settle with a card with less-than-perfect pictures, that went out the day before Christmas... :)

The card is beautiful! Just think of this as the environmentally-friendly way of distributing your Christmas card - nothing wrong with that!! :)
