Grins and Giggles

I think our favorite time around here is bathtime. I was surprised to discover that even early on, Phoebe was a MAJOR fan of the water. As long as she stayed wet, she was feeling great! Now that she's bigger and can get really wet, she likes it even more.

She has a new favorite pasttime when it comes to the bath. For a long time, we've been calling her bath her "splish splash". Well, now she's taking that literally. Many have seen her in action as she kicks and "runs" on her changing table, or pretty much any time she gets excited. She's now taken the excitement to the tub! No one in a six foot radius of the kitchen sink is safe from her splishing and splashing. She gets so thrilled, that the more she splashes, the more excited she gets, so the bigger her splashing gets. Who needs tub toys when you have feet?

She is also delighting all those around her with her newly discovered giggle. It's elusive, but when she does it, we can't help but giggle with her. I thought her smile was great...and it still is... but man, that giggle!

We've returned from an overnight jaunt to see Mops and Pops, and now we're settling back into our "usual" -- laundry, grocery store, cleaning, and regular naps. I think she's pretty tuckered out; she's been down for a while now! But I'm waiting for her any-minute-now-I'm-ready-to-eat noises. :)

Ladies that Lunch

We probably made quite the scene at Zoe's today... 3 girls with 3 girls, all 3 months or younger. There was a little car seat/stroller rodeo all over our table. Today, I enjoyed some grownup time with Carolynn and Kristin, and their little girls Callahan (2 months) and Ella (1 month), respectively. Phoebe was the grown-up of the group. We have no pictures to prove it, but they were all just delightful, even if it was a little hot outside. It was good to just be out with some friends! I think Phoebe also enjoyed being a big girl! She was so alert and into everyone... Phoebe has actually had lots of friend time this week! Kayla (7 months) came over for a little while yesterday and was very interested in Phoebe, and Phoebe was quite the trooper as she was "inspected" (see photo). It's amazing how much little ones change in just a few months! The last time I saw Kayla, she was Phoebe's age.

Also registered for a class at the local scrapbook store after lunch... I've been wanting to do
more with some scrapbooking. This week I've just been playing with all of the "stuff' I've accumulated over the past year, trying to actually DO something just for me. I've had so much fun! In fact, more fun than when I'm making something for someone else! Go figure!

Testing...

After a brief stint with the xanga blog, my husband was the first to jump ship. I figured I'd do the wifely thing and follow him to this place. I mean, all the cool kids are doing it, so why not? Anyway, this will be a good way to keep track of all the excitement going on at the homeplace and beyond.

Today's post is brought to you by the letter
P : pink, pretty, and precocious. I decided to have a very amateur photo shoot this afternoon and dress Phoebs up in one of her frilly dresses. Needless to say, I think all of the grandparents enjoyed her photos VERY much. What did Phoebe think of the whole process? Let's just say she was more interested in eating her hands and pulling up her dress.

So anyway, she's finally settling down for the night, which means I get some QT with the main squeeze. Seeya!
